Field Technicians are responsible for an application of a biological larvacide to community catch basins while riding a bicycle throughout all assigned treatment areas in an effort to control the larval populations of mosquitoes, inspection of a breeding site using a cup and dipper to sample water source, larviciding applications using backpack sprayer, and adulticiding while driving a truck with attached sprayer.

Pay: $12.00 per hour (ending hours my vary depending on business needs)

Weekends and/or overtime may be required based on business needs

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ride a bicycle during all assigned treatment routes while abiding all traffic laws
  • Dispense treatment packets in a safe, proper and timely manner
  • Performs daily inspections of bicycles, vehicle and equipment to verify working condition and communicate any issues to the supervisor
  • Document daily work activity including product used to ensure completion of customer contracts
  • Responsible for making sure safe work practices and procedures are followed at all time

Successful Candidate Must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Check water samples to determine if mosquito larvae and pupae exist and save samples
  • Measure treatments accurately and dispense treatments in a safe, proper and timely manner
  • Be able to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time as well as walk extensively
  • Must be able to work through the end of our 2018 season (September/October)
  • May be required to obtain state required pesticide licensing (training provided)
  • Capable of using handheld technical devices including, but not limited, smartphones, GPS, and system applications
  • Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties in the field from a vehicle while navigating through various residential communities, urban environments and traffic patterns where environmental conditions are affected by weather
