The Helicopter Support Technician is responsible for assisting the pilot with the daily operations of the aircraft in order to complete aerial treatments ensuring customer expectation and objectives for all contracts in assigned territories are met.

Shifts: Will vary according to business needs and travel schedules; work week may include up to 6 days totaling 40 hours a week - Typical work hours: Monday- Friday, 6:00 am 2:30 pm

Pay: $13.00 per hour

Candidates should be available to work a flexible schedule on a regular basis and be willing to travel when needed

Job Duties:

  • Loading of pesticides/herbicides into aircraft
  • Fuel vehicles and helicopter
  • Travel to job sites in support vehicle to assist pilot with treatments
  • Must be willing to cross train to work on other field crews as necessary
  • Must be able to pass ATV/Trailer training (and/or have prior ATV/trailer drive experience)
  • Performs daily inspections of vehicle and equipment and communicate any issues to the supervisor
  • Measure products accurately and dispense materials in a safe, proper, and timely manner
  • Document daily work activity including product used and units performed

 Successful Candidate Must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Driver's License with an excellent driving record
  • Be able to sit and drive a vehicle for extensive amounts of time
  • Be mechanically inclined and able to lift approximately 75 pounds
  • Be willing to travel out of state, up to 10 days at a time (expenses will be paid by the company)
  • Required to pass the Illinois Department of Agriculture General Standards Exam (training provided)
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights and/or weekends
  • Capable of using handheld electronic devices
  • Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain, including but not limited to water, heavy vegetation and uneven land, throughout residential communities, urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weather
