Clarke of Wellington, FL is seeking to hire a seasonal Aquatic Service Technician that will be responsible for the application of appropriate herbicide and/or algaecide to control or eliminate invasive aquatic plants and algae species. WORK SCHEDULE AND SALARY

This position earns a competitive wage of $13/hr. and generally works Monday- Saturday 2-3 days per week; 6:30AM-2:30PM (start/end times may vary based on business needs). The Aquatic Service Technician works on average 20-25 hours per week and supports Clarke's seasonal operations.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AQUATIC SERVICE TECHNICIAN

As a Seasonal Aquatic Services Technician, you will drive your Company provided pickup truck/trailer to account locations and identify invasive species plants and algaes to be treated. After successfully identifying treatment areas, you will operate boats and/or ATV's to apply herbicides and algaecides via a backpack sprayer or pressurized spray application. You love your Aquatic Service Technician job as you get to be out of an office and working on the water during the early morning and afternoon hours. You have excellent attention to detail as you accurately measure products and document your findings.

When you are not visiting customer properties, you are performing inspections and maintenance on your equipment, attending training, or helping in other aspects of your field. Your passion for public health and nature shines through as you complete your work each day.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN AQUATIC SERVICE TECHNICIAN

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a high school degree or equivalent with high school level math skills
  • Communicate effectively in English in both written and verbal forms
  • Have a valid Drivers License with an excellent driving record
  • Ability to sit and drive a vehicle for extended periods of time as well as walk extensively
  • Must be able to work through the end of our season (November/December)
  • Must be available to work 20-25 hours/week, Monday- Saturday, 6:30am- 2:30pm (end times may vary based on business needs)
  • Ability to independently and safely maneuver a truck and trailer combination that may include boats, ATVs or gators
  • Capable of using hand held technical devices including, but not limited to, smartphones, gps, and system applications
  • Have good physical dexterity and the ability to bend, lift, and carry all water systems (some in excess of 100 lbs.) with a partner
  • Candidate must be comfortable performing assigned duties outdoors while walking through various and challenging terrain, including but not limited to water, heavy vegetation and uneven land, throughout residential communities, urban environments and forested areas where environmental conditions are affected by weather
    • Work may require the consistent use of water boots, hip waders, or chest waders even during summer months.
    • Willingness and ability to work in semi-wet to wet areas on borders of lakes and canals
    • Willingness and ability to work in and amongst wildlife habitat and out in the elements (summer heat, humidity, etc.)
  • Be able to read and follow maps
  • Be able to lift and carry backpacks of up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to effectively partner with cross functional teams to meet performance objectives and to support mission and vision of the Company
  • Ability to travel to multiple site locations to meet the needs of the business
  • May be required to pass the Florida Aquatics Applicator exam (training provided)
  • Must be comfortable working in and around water and have the ability to swim
